The Connaught Bridge Buy-Back Centre has created meaningful live hood opportunities for 25 reclaimers enrolled in the Sustainable Employment Fund(SEF) programme. Through structured work, training, and income support, participants have transitioned from informal street picking to safer, more reliable livelihoods.

The Good Economy project integrates waste pickers into the circular economy by formalising their work, improving safety, and creating dignified livelihoods. It builds township-level recycling infrastructure, provides training and digital traceability, and links reclaimers to producer responsibility schemes—turning waste into income streams while advancing social equity and climate benefits.

USE-IT delivers training and skills development through its Green Learn-to-Earn pipeline, equipping youth and women with practical, accredited competencies in recycling, beneficiation, and enterprise creation. Owethu Umghele is a sewing and design enterprise that blends creativity with purpose. We craft high-quality garments such as uniforms, dresses, and graduation gowns, as well as a range of upcycled textile products including bags, accessories and umbrellas.
